There comes a time when something is happening to someone you love, and whatever is unfolding is completely out of your ability to control, assist, or impact. It is completely out of your hands, and the only thing left to do is let go and trust that whatever the outcome it is for the highest and best good of all touched by the events. Today was such a day in my life, and the lives of many of my friends. At times like these, practitioners such as ourselves do what we do: pray. Today the question was posed to me: “but what do we pray for?” — the outcome being so unknown, and out of our reach to affect. To me, prayer is equivalent to invocation. It’s the invoking of energies into a situation with the heartfelt wish to bring into that occurrence the highest, purest form of love and light possible; for an outcome that serves the greatest good of all. My answer to this question is, in situations such as this, I pray for everyone involved to be blessed with ease and grace, peace and comfort. The intention is that everyone be free of pain and suffering, and be healthy and well in every way (even when that may not be in physical form). Today I found myself saying “it’s in God’s hands.” And then I laughed at myself as the thought came that it’s ALWAYS in God’s hands! Being an energy medicine practitioner who uses my hands to direct energy in ways that promote health and healing, it’s humbling to remember that my hands are only instruments for that which is far beyond my limited mind and body. And these instruments are themselves limited in their capacity to utilize the all powerful energy of creation. The best we can do at any moment in time is just to be love in full expression, with a sincere, heartfelt intention for the very best to come to fruition for all beings. Wishing you all the best, always! Love, Linda
